Collections Desk
For freelancers and small studios in New York

Get paid for the work you already did.

Collections Desk puts your terms in writing, issues the invoice, reminds the client in your words, catches the Zelle or Venmo payment when it lands, and drafts the demand letter when it doesn't. Nothing goes out without your name on it.

The demo is a made-up photography studio with six clients. This copy was recorded on the day it was built, and nothing in it is sent.

How the desk works

  1. Terms in writing first

The desk writes the agreement from the job, checks it against New York's freelance law, and gives the client a page to sign. No invoice goes out without one.

  2. The invoice

Issued on the signed agreement at the amounts it allows, as a PDF and a page the client can pay from.

  3. Reminders in your words

Before the due date, on it, then three, seven and fourteen days late. Each one waits for your approval, and a reply from the client stops them until you have read it.

  4. The payment, noticed

Zelle, Venmo, PayPal and Cash App emails are read for the amount and the invoice number. You confirm once you see the money in your app.

  5. A letter, if it comes to that

The late interest your agreement allows, a demand letter that cites the law, then a small-claims packet. You approve, send and file each one yourself.

What it will not do

  • Send anything for you. You read every reminder and letter and send it from your own address.
  • Count money because an email says it arrived. Fake payment emails are a common scam.
  • Invent a fee. Late interest comes only from the agreement you both signed, under the state's cap.

See it with real-looking work in it

The demo opens a studio with ninety days of invoices: a Zelle payment to confirm, a client who wrote back, a reminder due today and an invoice thirty days late.
