Grant Office
How it works
Grant Office does the checking a contract grant writer does by hand, before anyone presses submit. The order below is the order a packet moves in.
The organisation's files come in
Every document is typed and hashed as it arrives. A file the client re-dated, or sent back with edits, is held for a person.
Each funder's rules are quoted from its own page
Deadlines, channels, attachments, limits, eligibility and exclusions, each with the funder's exact words and a link to where they say it.
The facts are kept in one place
Enrollment, dates, addresses and the funding plan, each with its source. Every document is read against them, so a stale number is caught wherever it was copied.
Every packet is checked before anyone sees it
A packet that breaks a rule is sent back with the fix on a pink copy. Items only a person can confirm go on a canary copy. In this demo, the Windows of Hope letter still says “Thirty students”; open it and apply the writer’s fix.
The director approves; a person submits
Only a packet with no pink copies reaches the director. The approval is recorded against the recorded check of that packet, and a copy of each file is kept, so it shows exactly what was approved even after the files change. The submission is recorded with its proof, and only for a packet that is still the one approved.
