Flight deck · welcome aboard

Flower dried under vacuum.

We freeze flower within an hour of harvest and dry it under vacuum, so a gram fills the jar like two.

Cargo bay · the one thing

2x more bud. Same weight.

Most cannabis is dried by hanging for weeks. Space Weed is frozen within an hour of harvest and dried under vacuum.

Flash Frozen Curing removes excess moisture from the bud. Since water is so heavy, Space Weed has twice the volume of hang-dried flower.

  • 1 hfrozen within an hour
  • 80%of the water gone
  • 2xthe volume in the jar
  • 4issued US patents
Two clear jars side by side, holding the same weight of flower. The Space Weed jar on the left is full to the lid; the jar of conventionally cured flower on the right is well under half full.
The same weight in each jar. Space Weed on the left, conventionally cured on the right.

Engine room · how it works

Ice to vapour, never liquid.

In a vacuum, ice skips melting and goes straight to vapour.

Flash Frozen Curing is a patented scientific method whereby fresh cannabis is flash frozen and then dried under vacuum using temperature, time, and pressure.

Observation deck · ship’s log

Why it’s called Space Weed.

We got our name from our early supporters, who compared the texture of our Flash Frozen bud to astronaut ice cream. Space Weed is the product of our unique Flash Frozen Curing process. Learn more about that here. Space Weed is one of the only truly different cannabis products on the market.

Cannabis defined itself in the era of prohibition, as an element of counter-culture. Those days are gone, but much of what cannabis is and how it’s produced and consumed are still defined by antiquated techniques. There’s no reason that inertia should inhibit cannabis development. We believe that science needs to be the new guiding light.
